We accept all major debit cards, credit cards and Apple Pay, and all our drivers have secure touch card terminals for in-car payments. You can also store your payment details in the app for automatic payment if you wish.

YLC use the latest touch card terminals for in-car payments. You can also store payment details securely in your phone app for automatic payment on arrival too.

With YLC, there are no hidden charges. The price you are quoted on the app is the price you will pay for the number of passengers and their luggage. For taxi airport transfers, that price will include both the mandatory drop-off charges and the ULEZ (for our non-electric vehicles) where applicable.

The price quote is all-inclusive if you give us accurate details of how many passengers will travel, details of any luggage, and child car seat requests.

We personalise every quote to your specific requirements, so you always get the best price for where you live, when you want to travel, and the type of taxi you require. No, it’s actually cheaper than booking by phone as you earn a 5% discount every time you use the app! Also, our prices are fixed across all YLC group vehicles, and those from our MultiFleet partners too.

All journeys booked through the app are stored on the app. So you can look at past taxi trips, and ones you’ve booked for the future, all in one place. If you book via phone, we will send you either an email or an SMS to confirm your booking (email and/or mobile number required).

We have a small selection of child sets available, and we can also supply booster seats for older children. Just let us know the size of child seat you need when booking. You are also welcome to provide your own child seats.

Our executive minivans take up to eight passengers along with eight items of standard hold luggage. What’s more, we have three Mercedes eVito all electric luxury vans, for a smooth, quiet and eco-friendly, no carbon emissions. Journey.

Yes, as we reserve a vehicle just for your journey. As a result, the fare is slightly higher for our electric taxis and vans as it is reserved just for you at the time you need it. The good news is that by travelling electric, you’ll cut your journey’s carbon emissions to zero! We have 18 all electric VW SUVs and Mercedes eVito executive vans available, plus hybrid vehicles as part of our standard fleet. To book, just click the electric vehicle option online or on the app.

Look out for your driver holding a board with you name on in the Arrivals Hall at Heathrow Airport, Gatwick Airport, regional airports and TAG Farnborough. The YLC booking app tracks your driver’s car, so you’ll know where the taxi is parked too!

How early (or late) you can arrive very much depends on where you are flying to, and at what time of day. Taxing a taxi transfer to the airport reduces the time required before your flight as you don’t need to park the car, catch a transfer bus from car park to terminal, and carry heavy luggage. Our drivers drop you at the terminal entrance, saving around 30 minutes on self-parking

Generally airlines suggest a minimum of 2 hours before a domestic flight, and 3 hours before an international flight, more at busy times. Whilst e-ticketing and online check-in do speed things up, there are still security and passport control queues to consider.

We don’t have taxis hanging around at the airport, so just pre-book in advance and you can relax! No last minute panics, and the reassurance that whatever time your flight arrives, we’ll be there waiting. Our online flight tracker tracks the flights giving us real time updates on any delays

In your app, just click on your booking to track where your taxi is in real time, as it arrives to collect you and take you home. Once you have collected your luggage, your driver will be waiting in the Arrivals Hall for you.

Yes we do. To pre-book a return airport taxi transfer, you need to tell us:

• The airport you are departing from (and returning to if different)
• Your airport terminal
• Your airline
• Your flight number

If any flight details change whilst you are away, especially the flight number, please let us know via the app or call us so we can adjust your booking accordingly.

Every driver holds either a full UK or EU driving license.

• All YLC private car drivers hold a private hire driver’s licence (PHV)
• YLC taxi vehicle drivers hold a hackney carriage licence issued by the local authority.

The PHV licensing process includes thorough background and character checks to ensure each driver is a ‘fit and proper person’. YLC hold our own interviews and have a vetting process that includes making an enhanced criminal records check through the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS).

Your Local Car is technically a Private Hire company, offering private taxi services that must be booked in advance. You cannot ‘flag down’ one of our cars. However, thanks to partnerships with other companies in the MultiFleet group, we can offer taxis driven by hackney can drivers who can accept non-booked rides.

If you use the app to book a journey with YLC, frankly, it makes no difference. You get a friendly driver, a comfortable ride and all the benefits of using the app.

The main difference between each is how each are legally allowed to be hired. Taxis can be ‘hailed’ in the street and can wait at designated taxi ranks. Private Hire vehicles need to be pre-booked. All YLC taxis and private hire can be booked through the same app so it’s nice and easy!
