Mindenhurst is a new development built on the site of the Princess Royal Barracks at Deepcut, with 1,200 homes, a new primary school, retail outlets, sports facilities, business premises and green space. As part of the scheme, St Barbara’s Garrison Church in Deepcut has been restored.
New homes are being built and released in phases by home developers Cala Homes, Trivselhus, Bovis Homes, Aquinna Homes, Bourne Homes, Bloor Homes and Taylor Wimpey. The historic “HQ Building” located on Newfoundland Road has been developed into one and two bedroom apartments and three bedroom duplexes.
The Mindenhurst development offers the opportunity to live in a green and leafy setting close to major towns and transport links. The homes are being released in stages, and we have already seen considerable interest from investors as well as prospective home buyers.
If you are interested in buying or investing, and don’t live locally, we can collect you from any nearby station or airport (including Farnborough Airportand London Heathrow or Gatwick). Deepcut train station drop off and collect
Deepcut has no train station of its own, but there are plenty of options, including:
- Brookwood (4 miles), Farnborough Main (3.5 miles) and Woking (8 miles) on the main London line
- Frimley (2.6 miles) on the Guildford to Ascot line
- Farnborough North (4 miles) and North Camp (4.2miles) on the Reading to Redhill line

Can I book a taxi to the Deepcut lock flight on the Basingstoke Canal
Yes, and it’s now much easier than it used to be to access. The Deepcut flight is an impressive series of 14 locks on just a two mile stretch of the Basingstoke Canal, raising it an impressive1 00 feet (30.5 metres). It used to be the hidden gem in Deepcut’s crown, but was remarkably difficult to access due to the north side of the canal being military land. However, the Mindenhurst development not only offers access and parking, but marked paths through a SANG to reach the Frimley Top Lock. Such a difference!
The locks operate every Monday, Wednesday or Friday (subject to water levels). Your Local Car driver can take you to the nearest access point to the locks and collect you again, for a hassle-free visit for canal enthusiasts and families alike.
