Peter White – Managing Director

Peter is a born leader who is skilled at multi-tasking. Being the overall decision maker for the business, his responsibilities include operations, communications, career progression and long-term strategic planning for the company. Peter is no stranger when it comes to balancing clients’ needs, the company’s goals and engaging staff to ensure that Your Local Car continues to grow from strength to strength.

With an automotive background, Peter worked in the insurance accident repair sector for over 10 years, working closely with BMW to increase industry standards throughout the UK. His passion for keeping things local is clearly working, by engaging the community in his aim of creating local employment.

Mark Knowles – Head of Operations

Mark is Head of Operations at Your Local Car. He ensures that our high standards are maintained for every journey, and that the company is in compliance with ever-changing legislation. Mark has worked alongside Peter to grow the company by an impressive 500% in the last 5 years. He is passionate about customer service and creating sustainable and enjoyable jobs for local people, and to maintain the professional and reliable service our customers expect.

He is particularly keen to build a sustainable yet rigorous recruiting process and driver training programme that maintains the high level of personal service for our customers, regardless of which of our 100+ drivers take them to their destination.

Alan White – Co Founder

Since the beginning, Alan has always been the customer facing person of the business and remains hugely popular with our clients. With Alan’s never ending repertoire of jokes and consistent customer service, there is no doubt that the company would not be where it is today without him. Whilst secretly wanting to hang up his car keys, he still remains fully involved in the day to day running of the business with duties which include vehicle maintenance, driver training and ensuring new drivers are ready for the knowledge test.

Janet White – Co Founder

Janet has been the unseen face of the business since it was founded in 1996. Having dealt with every incoming call, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year for 15 years, it was time to take some well-earned ‘ME TIME”. Nevertheless, this does not mean that Janet has retired completely. She now works on a part-time basis which allows her to pass on her 20+ years of expert knowledge to all of the Your Local Car team.
