MultiFleet is a sustainable, no-stress business model that brings together small local independents to share YLC’s cutting edge dispatch system, electric vehicle pool, mobile app tech and more.
There really isn’t anything quite like MultiFleet in the UK. It started with an initial offer of help by founder Peter White to a retiring local taxi business owner. It rapidly evolved into the current membership of nine companies today.
In an era when most companies want to take over or merge with competitors, MultiFleet allows small, local taxi companies to retain their independence, reduce costs, access the latest state of the art systems, and lower their carbon emissions, all at the same time.

MultiFleet: a brief history
MultiFleet didn’t just happen overnight. Its origins lie in the pandemic, when some local small independent taxi firms really struggled to survive. Having taken over the family taxi firm started by his parents, Your Local Car’s owner Peter White understood their plight.
So he reached out and offered them access to Your Local Car’s online booking system and driver management systems, for free. Several took Peter up on the offer, and the concept of expanding this sharing of resources began to take shape.
Getting these first local partnerships off the ground took all Peter’s innovative insight, drive, determination (and charm) to directly approach competitors and suggest how collaborating could benefit them.
Peter took the risks, made the calls, and knocked on doors. With YLC’s first major partnership, Peter proved how two previously competing companies could work together in the same office space, sharing all resources and still retain their independence and individual brand identities.
That partnership prototype has now evolved into MultiFleet, a group of independent companies that share high tech resources, electric vehicles, and drivers. Working together, each company can make more journeys with more customers, AND reduce their environmental impact considerably too.
Initially funded by Your Local Car, MultiFleet group members now share ongoing costs. All group members’ drivers have access to the Your Local Car driver pool of electric cars, with the considerable benefit of zero tailpipe emissions on every MultiFleet journey they take.
