We’ve just clocked up our one millionth passenger journey AND won a Gold Award at the SME Surrey Business Awards – what a milestone!
We were so thrilled to see the job number on our state of the art booking system click over 1 million (and yes, it did start from number 1!). That’s 1 million journeys taking local people where they needed to be, from early airport runs and rainy day pickups, to “no worries about parking” hospital appointments, or just a taxi home from the station.
As our founder Peter White says:

Peter has been there every mile of the way, taking Your Local Car from humble beginnings as a family firm with just a few cars, to an impressive 71,880 bookings last year. He also revolutionised our booking system with the YLC app. As a result, booking a YLC journey is quick and easy, which is probably why the app is so popular. From a standing start just under 5 years ago, almost 80% of bookings are now made via the app.

Going greener mile by mile
At Your Local Car, we now have our own fleet of 18 fully electric vehicles, including 2 top of the line BMWi7 chauffeur vehicles. So whilst we’ve clocked up that 1 millionth journey, we’ve also slashed our carbon emission by over 140 tonnes for 2024, and with more savings to come in 2025. What’s more, for every mile they drive, electric vehicles become more and more eco-friendly, as their zero emissions balance out the impact of their initial construction.

The simplest way to book a YLC taxi or private hire vehicle is to download our app to your phone or mobile device. You can also book online in advance from your PC or laptop, if you prefer.

Q. Is the booking app free to download?
Our YLC booking app is completely free to download for Apple and Android phones and devices – and saves you 5% on every journey you book using it too.
Q. Can I still book by phone?
Yes, you can book one of our taxis, exec vans and luxury electric BMWs by phone anytime. Just call us at 01252 674646. Please be aware that booking by phone doesn’t give you the 5% discount.
Q. Can I work as a driver for YLC?
